This is another study that I created for this piece that focuses on Filipino-American immigrants.
I exhaust my ideas and try to make at least three studies for pieces like this. My first approach was maximalist because I wanted to overwhelm the viewer with a classic Filipino handaan.
In the end, Nimu Mirano (RS PH art director), guided me towards a new direction. We kept it simple and direct for this last round of sketches.
